Overview
Second-generation 4-axis SCARA arm, classed as a cobot because Dobot and press market it as collaborative ('Safe to Collaborate', collision protection for working beside people), from Dobot with the controller built into the base. Payload 1.5 kg, reach 400 mm, repeatability +-0.02 mm, 15.7 kg, with collision detection, an encoder interface for conveyor tracking and a forearm about 40% narrower than a conventional industrial SCARA. Programmed with DobotStudio Pro (Blockly, Lua script) or SDKs over TCP/IP; communication by TCP/IP, Modbus TCP and Modbus RTU.

- Max TCP speed is not published on the official page; OpenELAB lists 2.0 m/s but that is a reseller figure, so max_speed is left empty. Operating temperature and power draw are not listed on the official page.
- Category cobot: Dobot and press (mrk-blog.de, 13 March 2022) call it a collaborative SCARA with collision protection for working beside people; it is a floor/bench arm, not the desktop MG400 class.
- Press (mrk-blog.de, 2022-03-13) calls it the second generation of the M1 SCARA ('M1 Pro'); the first-generation Dobot M1 is not in the catalog, so no predecessor_id is set. Same article: cycle time 0.46 s, front arm about 40% narrower than a conventional industrial arm.
- Interfaces: TCP/IP, Modbus TCP, Modbus RTU. SDKs based on TCP/IP for Java, C++, C#, Python, ROS, MATLAB, LabVIEW, Android. Release notes say MG400 and M1 Pro no longer support teach and playback.
- Prices: Dobot publishes none. The OpenELAB listing (EUR 5,497.95, SOLD OUT, VAT basis not stated) is not recorded as a price. Other dealers on 2026-10-17 conflicted or could not be fetched (Rapid Online showed GBP 3,499.99 with 'Inc VAT' and 'Ex VAT' both labelled and a repeatability of +-0.2 mm in its table; RobotShop and Scan returned errors). The M1 Pro year of availability is not stated by Dobot.
